The 4 Best Skin Tips for a Long Flight

The 4 Best Skin Tips for a Long Flight

Here at ScentedTowel.com, we’ve done A LOT of travelling!  So, if you want your skin to look smooth, firm, and radiant after even the longest of airline trips, just follow these 4 tips:

1.  Wipe off your makeup

Odds are the paparazzi won’t be waiting for you at the gate when you land, so it’s OK to go makeup-free!  (If you’ve got to look your best before your plane takes off, just tuck one of our makeup remover wipes into your carryon.  That way, you can get a fresh face without leaving your seat!)

Bottom line – the less time your skin has to absorb your makeup, the better.  In fact, it’s estimated that if you wear makeup every day, your skin absorbs five pounds of chemicals every year!  All of that super-dry airline cabin air can make the absorption even more intense – which will simply clog your pores and leave you with breakouts.

2.  Don’t grab a cocktail

A drink can seem like the perfect solution when you’re sitting next to a screaming baby or terrified of turbulence, but the alcohol in it will make your skin scream for mercy!  That’s because it will dehydrate your skin.  Combine it with all of that dry air you’re already sitting in, and your face will feel like the Mojave Desert!

3.  Skip the peanuts

They may be an airline staple, but all of the salt in them can make your skin look puffy and swollen.  Instead, bring your own snacks that are chock full of water – like fruits.  They’re better for your skin AND better for your waistline!

4.  Avoid the window seat

If you’re flying during the day, the window seat puts you closer to the sun.  And, travelling along at 35,000 feet in the air puts you closer to the sun.  Add the two together, and you’ll wind up soaking up a ton of UV rays.  Yuck!
