What's With The Lemons?

What's With The Lemons?

You may be wondering why we decided to go with lemon for so many of our scented towels.  After all, there are plenty of great fruits out there (including some great scents sitting right in the citrus family!).

So, what's with the lemons?

For us, this fruit was the very best choice for our products because:

-  It's a natural astringent

We've already talked about how nasty alcohol can be for your skin.  So, if you're looking for a way to get your skin really clean -- without assaulting it -- look no further than lemon essential oil.  It will make you skin feel AND smell completely fresh!

-  It can break up breakouts

Hey, we all get a pimple from time to time.  But instead of panicking over how to cover it up, why not tap into the power of lemon?  Because it's a great detoxifier, it can power through the oil and dirt on your face to help zap zits.

-  It can give your skin a boost

Not only is lemon essential oil safe enough to rub all over, it can also brighten your skin.  So, if you're feeling a little dull, give your face a wipe, and let the lemons do their thing!

-  It's bright and sunny

Even though our lemon scented towels and makeup remover wipes don't LOOK yellow, you can't help but FEEL yellow when you use them!  After all, you probably can't smell a lemon without thinking of a bright sunny day, chock full of rejuvenation and energy.

We LOVE lemons, and now that you know what they can do, we bet you love them, too!

Why Is "Alcohol Free" So Important?

Why Is "Alcohol Free" So Important?

If you've taken a spin around ScentedTowel.com, you've probably noticed that we brag about all of our products being alcohol free.

But why did we bother to create a bunch of fancy alcohol free graphics?  Why is this such a selling point?

-  You get to keep your skin's natural moisture intact

Alcohol strips skin of its own natural moisturizers every time you rub it onto your delicate face -- leaving it feeling tight, dry, and downright uncomfortable.  In fact, alcohol can actually dehydrate your cells so much that they die!

Making matters worse, stripping away all of that moisture can send your skin into "overdrive", meaning it will start producing more oil to combat the dryness.  Unfortunately, when that happens, your skin can wind up looking greasy and, soon enough, completely broken out!

-  Your skin won't sting

Even if you don't have sensitive skin, alcohol can make it sting like crazy.  In fact, it can even burn your skin -- meaning it won't just hurt, but it will look red and scaly, too!  You want your face to be clean, but you don’t want to assault it.  That means you've got to keep the alcohol far, far away!

-  You won't have to worry about sinking more stuff into your skin

We've already talked about how your skin is like a giant sponge.  However, if you rub alcohol onto it, your skin will become even more absorbent.  That means it's easier for things like makeup and dirt to penetrate your skin -- and wind up floating around inside your body!  Yuck!

3 Tips for Travelling Light

3 Tips for Travelling Light

Here at ScentedTowel.com, we've done A LOT of travelling!  So, we know that nothing spoils a trip quite like a suitcase that weighs more than all of your travelling companions combined.  (Plus, we know that those "heavy bag" airline fees can be a killer!)

So, how do you travel light, without skipping on any of the essentials?

1.  Skip the face wash

That big bottle takes up a bunch of space -- and, worse, it's likely to leak all of your clothes.  So, save yourself some precious suitcase space with our makeup remover wipes.  They're pre-moistened with stuff that's going to leave your skin clean and moisturized in one easy step.  However, they're all individually wrapped, so they won't leak anywhere.  (And as an added benefit, you won't have to lug a washcloth around with you!)

2.  Don't fold your clothes

Mom will probably be shocked to see this tip, but it really works!  Traditional folding takes up a ton of extra space, AND it creates wrinkles.  So, combat both problems by laying each item of clothing down flat on top of each other, and then roll everything up.  (Think of it like making a giant clothing burrito!)  You'll be able to save so much space that you might even be able to downgrade to a smaller suitcase!

3.  Skip the toiletry case

Those cases may look fancy, but they take up a huge chunk of space.  Instead, pack your essentials in several plastic bags.  That way, you can stuff each bag into a corner, instead of looking for a giant spot to store your case.
Want an even more streamlined solution?  Look for pre-packaged toiletries (like our scented towels!) so that you don't use up an army of Ziplocks every time you head out of town.

Is this the world's worst airline? United plane runs out of toilet paper during 11-hour flight... and then offers passengers napkins as a replacement

  • Flight 931 was on its way from San Francisco to London on June 16 when crew made the unfortunate discovery

Passengers on an 11-hour United Airlines flight were outraged when the plane ran out of toilet paper during the journey.
Flight 931 was on its way from San Francisco to London on June 16 when crew made the unfortunate discovery.
Their response however has sent the story viral - as flight crew, apparently without irony, placed napkins in the bathroom as a makeshift solution. The branded napkins read: 'Fly by the tips of your fingers.'

The picture was posted on the message board Flyertalk by someone called SFO_Runner.
He wrote: 'Apparently, they ran out in one lav half-way home and couldn't bother to transfer a roll from another.
'And before you ask, I went BACK to the lav AFTER I saw this. Didn't have the phone with me the first time.'

In a statement, a United Airlines spokesman told MailOnline: 'The aircraft ran low on toilet tissue and our crew improvised and provided customers with paper napkins.
'We apologize to our customers on this flight for the inconvenience and would like the opportunity to welcome them back.'
The company came last in a customer service survey released in April.

United Airlines is currently facing a lawsuit filed last month by an 18-year-old California high school student who claimd that flight attendants failed to address a passenger who was masturbating in front of her.
Monica Amestoy, a senior at Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy, said the incident took place on October 21 aboard United Flight 771 while she was traveling back to LA after taking part in a debate tournament in New York.
Then-17-year-old Amestoy said she was terrified and disgusted seeing the stranger pleasuring himself across the aisle from her, and she immediately notified a flight attendant. But she said that 'to her horror,' no action was taken against the passenger because he could not be relocated.
The Amestoy family’s lawsuit, filed against United Airlines and United Continental Holdings, accuses the company of negligence, intentional infliction of emotional distress and false imprisonment, and seeks unspecified compensatory and punitive damages.
In response to the suit, the airline said in a statement: 'The comfort and security of our customers is our top priority, and we will closely review this complaint when we receive it.'

Don’t Let Your Workout Be Murder on Your Skin!

Don’t Let Your Workout Be Murder on Your Skin!

A high-intensity trip to the gym can be a great way to tone up and slim down, but it can leave your skin looking and feeling less than stellar.

So, how do you stay in shape AND keep your skin glowing?

-  Eliminate the workout makeup

If you’ve got makeup on, your skin won’t be able to breathe.  (Think it can survive anyways?  Try to hold your breath the next time you’re on the treadmill, and see how long YOU last!)

If you’re going to be someplace else before you hit the gym – and don’t want to head all over town without any makeup – use our makeup remover wipes.  That way, you won’t even have to find a sink (or lug around a bottle of cleanser) to get your skin in tip-top workout shape!

-  Keep your skin hydrated

Remember, all of that sweat is water leaving your body.  So, in addition to drinking plenty of water, keep your skin moist.  Our scented towels are easy to tuck in your gym bag.  And, since they’re pre-moistened, you can use one while you wait for the elliptical machine to free up.  (As an added benefit, the scent may give you the boost you need to power through another set!)

-  Clean your face as soon as your workout is finished

The last thing you need is a bunch of sweat and grime sitting on your face!  So, use a scented towel to remove the top layer of bacteria before you even get in the car to leave.  Then, finish off the job with your favorite cleanser as soon as you get home.
