4 Awesome Uses for Scented Towels You Haven't Thought Of

4 Awesome Uses for Scented Towels You Haven't Thought Of

If you think our scented towels are only great for a cross-country airline trip, think again.  We've come up with 4 not-so-common but equally-awesome ways to use them!

Go ahead and pass them out as:

1.  Wedding favors

If you want to give your guests a treat that they can use to cool off during your ceremony by the sea (or, maybe, to fight off the post-reception hangover!), scented towels are a great idea.  They're refreshing, luxurious, and innovative -- the same things you want everyone to think about your wedding!

2.  Post-marathon gifts

If your best friend just made it through 26.2 miles -- and crossed a major milestone off of her Bucket List to boot -- why not give her the gift of luxury?  Since our scented towels are all pre-moistened, they'll provide a cool post-run treat.  The scent will offer her some instant rejuvenation amidst the post-run exhaustion.  And, if you give her some to use later, she can heat them up and use them to soothe her aching muscles.  Does it get any better than that?!

3.  Volunteer treats

If your non-profit agency just completed a kick-butt fundraising event, you've probably got a bunch of tired, sweaty volunteers!  If you want to truly show your appreciation for all of their hard work, give them something they can use to pamper themselves.

4.  Picnic finishing touches

So you've enjoyed a yummy meal out in the country… now what?  If you're like us, you hate the thought of using paper moist towelettes (after all, they're bad for the environment and not exactly soft on your skin!).  So, clean up and cool off with a scented towel instead!

Behold the Power of Peach!

Behold the Power of Peach!

We're often asked why we chose peach scent for our scented towels (well, a peach mango combo to be exact!).  After all, you don't hear a whole lot about peach when you research aromatherapy.  Instead, you tend to hear more about scents like lavender, peppermint, and lemon.

However, the scent of peaches brings some real power into the mix!

We love peach because it produces a reaction that's similar to a "natural high".  Breathe it in, and you'll be able to concentrate better, remember things more clearly, and even feel happier and more peaceful.  Basically, you'll feel a whole lot better about the world around you, and your brain will be on its "A game".

Sounds pretty powerful to us!

But there's another reason that we've fallen in love with peaches -- they offer the perfect year-round scent.  During the summer, we associate the smell with Grandma's peach cobbler baking in the oven, peaches and cream on a lazy Sunday morning, and even a ripe juicy peach packed in a picnic basket.  During the colder months, we associate peach with tropical islands, the sound of steel drum bands wafting in the ocean breeze, and a warmer Caribbean climate that we wish we could enjoy 365 days a year!

Whether you're near the ocean -- or simply doing some island dreamin' on a cold winter's day -- there's nothing more refreshing than peaches.  Thanks to our scented towels, you can take that refreshment with you, no matter where you're headed.

Consider it our powerful present!

The 4 Best Ways to Stay Relaxed on Your Flight

The 4 Best Ways to Stay Relaxed on Your Flight

Here at ScentedTowel.com, we know how grueling it can be to fly all over the place, either for work or for play.  (In fact, our own long airline hours are what prompted us to start this business in the first place!)

So, if you're looking for the best ways to stay relaxed at 30,000 feet, look no further than these 4 tips:

1.  Bring along the lavender

There's a reason why so many of our scented towels are infused with lavender essential oil -- it's a proven stress-buster!  Studies have shown that lavender increases the number of beta waves in your brain, and it's those waves that are responsible for keeping you calm, cool, and collected.

2.  Keep your mind busy

If you're afraid of flying, every bump in the sky is going to convince you that something morbid is happening.  So, find a book you love or download some new music onto your iPod in order to keep your mind from drifting to less-than-ideal possibilities.  (As an added benefit, this will make the time go much faster!)

3.  Focus on your breathing

When you get anxious or stressed out, your breathing becomes shallow and fast.  Unfortunately, that pace makes you feel a whole lot more anxious and stressed!  So, focus on taking deep breaths -- giving yourself plenty of time to inhale and exhale at a leisurely pace.

4.  Have some lemon essential oil on hand

You'll find it in our scented towels because -- among other things -- it's great at providing relief from the common cold.  After all, nothing's worse than flying with a stuffy nose and a sore throat.  (And all of that dry, recycled airplane air is going to make your symptoms even worse!)  But, by breathing in some lemon, you can instantly feel rejuvenated.

Why Are Hot Scented Towels So Much Better?

Why Are Hot Scented Towels So Much Better?

As invigorating as a strong scent can be, we're hard-pressed to think of anything that feels better than a hot scented towel!

Why?

Heat is like a mini-massage.  In fact, massage therapists use hot towels on areas that can't tolerate the pressure from "regular" massage strokes.  So, if you don't have access to a licensed masseuse, heat up a scented towel and give yourself a spa treatment!

Best of all, heat can make your aching muscles relax.  Specifically, the warmth will help give your circulation a boost.  That's a big deal, because the more blood you have flowing to a particular area, the more oxygen and nutrients that can be delivered -- which instantly makes you feel better.  Heat can also calm down your over-stressed nerve endings.  After all, pain is actually the end result of your nerve endings "talking" to each other.  So, if you can make your nerve endings relax, you won't have to deal with that aching back or that sore neck that's been giving you fits!

In short, those muscles that have been screaming for mercy all through your double shift can instantly feel better!

But it gets better…

When you combine that heat with a powerful scent (like, for example, the lavender and lemon essential oils that you'll find in our scented towels), the results can be even more dramatic.  Remember, our noses are powerful little things.  The scent part of our brains can give us more energy, help us concentrate better, and even bust a blue mood.

So, when you've got the right scent AND the power of heat, you've got a recipe for relaxation that simply can't fail!

Is In-Flight Luxury a Thing of the Past?

Is In-Flight Luxury a Thing of the Past?

Remember the good ol' days of airline travel?  Back when you got a hot in-flight meal, you didn't have to spend a small fortune to check your suitcase, and you didn't feel like you were crammed into the cabin like a bunch of sardines!

Somehow, though, airlines have shed their luxury over the years.

Now, instead of feeling like a high-class VIP, airline passengers view their trips as something they simply need to "get through".  They have to start by getting through security, then they have to get through an entire flight with just a tiny bag of pretzels and a growling stomach, and then they have to get through the lack of elbow and leg room that leaves them feeling achy and exhausted

However, we're trying to change that oh-so-uncomfortable feeling -- one scented towel at a time!

If you're a passenger, you can use our scented towels as a mid-flight boost.  The scents will rejuvenate you when the guy next to you starts snoring, or when that bag of pretzels just doesn't seem satisfying.  And, the pre-moistened, individually-wrapped setup will make even the strictest of TSA agents happy, so you can feel free to carry as many in your carry-on as you want!

If you work on an airline, our towel service sets can help bring the luxury back into airline travel -- without hurting your bottom line.  Whether you heat 'em up or cool 'em down, these cotton towels will be sure to please even the pickiest of travelers.  And, using the set of plastic tongs will instantly take you back to the good ol' days -- when passing out mid-flight towels was as common as handing out drinks.

No matter which side of the aisle you're on, we don't think that in-flight luxury should have to go the way of the dinosaurs!

What Makes Essential Oils So Great?

What Makes Essential Oils So Great?

If you take a look at our lemon and lavender scented towels, you'll see that they're infused with essential oils.  But what exactly does that mean?  And, more importantly, why does it translate into a better product for you?

-  They're all-natural

In virtually all cases, "fragrances" are the result of a synthetic recipe.  So, instead of using anything from the lemon itself, a scientist analyzes the components of the lemon and reproduces its chemical composition.  That's why fragrances are often referred to as "manufactured scents".

An essential oil, on the other hand, is extracted from the plant, fruit, stem, or root itself.  Instead of trying to replicate the scent in a lab, scientists use special methods (like steam distillation or a cold press, for example) to pull the oil out naturally.  That way, the finished product really IS 100% natural.

-  They're more versatile

There's a big difference between lavender fragrance and lavender essential oil.  Oh sure, both may smell pretty similar if you take a quick whiff, but the essential oil comes with a variety of extra benefits.  For example, lavender essential oil can help soothe burns.  That's something you could never ask a bottle of synthetic lavender fragrance to do for you!

-  They smell better

At first sniff, you may not be able to tell much of a difference between an essential oil and a manufactured fragrance.  However, if you're planning on having the scent stick around for awhile (like you would if you wiped off your skin with one of our scented towels), you need to go with the essential oil.  Because it's all-natural, it smells a whole lot better in the long run!
