The 4 Best Self-Tanning Tips You Never Would Have Thought Of

The 4 Best Self-Tanning Tips You Never Would Have Thought Of

Getting your hands on the very best self-tanning towels is only the beginning.  If you want to look like you just stepped off a plane from the Caribbean, follow these 4 self-tanning tips.  They're easy to follow, but we bet you never would have thought of them on your own!

1.  Moisturize a few key areas first

Even though our organic self-tanning towels contain natural moisturizers, there are some spots that can use a little extra TMC ("Tender Moisturizing Care") beforehand.  Your knees, elbows, hands, and feet all tend to be drier than the rest of your body, so rub a light moisturizer on them before you tan.  That way, they won't over-absorb tanning solution and turn darker than the rest of your body.

2.  Start at the bottom of your body

The key to our self-tanning towels is the world "self" -- meaning you can use them without any help from a friend.  However, if you want the best finished product, start wiping at the bottom of your body and work your way up.  That way, you won't have to worry about the solution creasing when you bend over.

3.  Self-tan in a cool room

Give your steamy bathroom the ol' heave-ho when it comes time to use your self-tanning towels!  That's because the heat can make you sweat -- and, thus, make your tanning solution drip and run.  If you want a truly even finish, use your towels in a cool room.

4.  Don't try to do what the sun can't

Before you start self-tanning, envision how the sun hits your body.  There are going to be some places -- like the bottom of your feet and the palms of your hands -- that aren't going to get a dark tan.  So, when you grab your self-tanning towels, don't apply it to those areas.  If you do, you'll wind up looking fake!
