Sleeping with Your Makeup On? Yuck!!
You've been at work all day, the house is a mess, and you've
got to get up at the crack of dawn to start everything all over again. So, your face will forgive you if you
don't take the time to remove your makeup, right?
Wrong!
Part of the reason we created our makeup remover wipes in
the first place is because we know just how bad it is to sleep with your makeup
on. Leaving your makeup on
while you get some Z's can:
- Turn your
pillowcase into a breeding ground for bacteria
Every time you head to bed with a made-up face, you're
leaving makeup residue on your pillowcase. While the stains may come out in the wash in a few days,
you're resting your face on a ton of bacteria in the meantime! And, in true bacteria form, even just a
little makeup residue will grow and thrive quickly -- meaning you could wind up
with a face full of breakouts just from going to sleep!
- Dehydrate
your skin
The skin on your face (especially around your eyes) is very
delicate. If you don't remove your
makeup, your skin won't be able to get as much oxygen as it needs to stay
hydrated and repair itself overnight.
The end result? Skin that looks
dull, dry, and lifeless!
- Make you look
older than you really are
All of that makeup you're sleeping in is trapping free
radicals against your skin -- the same things that cause wrinkles and fine
lines. Plus, free radicals attack
collagen -- the stuff that keeps your skin looking firm and vibrant. Sleep in your makeup enough, and you
could wind up adding years to your appearance! Yikes!
