The 3 Biggest Self-Tanning Mistakes You Can Make

The 3 Biggest Self-Tanning Mistakes You Can Make

Think that self-tanning is a no-brainer?  Think again!  Sure, it may be easy to rub down your skin with a good tanning product, but you've got to work smart.  Otherwise, you'll wind up being the victim of one of these awful self-tanning mistakes:

1.  Blotchy spots

You want to look like a tanned Hula dancer, not a speckled mess!  Unfortunately, though, even the best self-tanning products can leave you with streaks and spots if you don't use them carefully.

That's why we designed our special self-tanning towels.  With them, all you have to do is rub them over your skin.  They're big enough to make sure you cover every single nook and cranny.  That way, no one will mistake you for Spotty Dotty!

2.  Skin that's orange

Having an even tan doesn't do you any good if your skin is orange instead of tan!  The skin tone you end up with will be a direct result of the self-tanning product you choose.  If you go with ingredients that aren't top-notch, you'll wind up with that unmistakable fake orange color.  But, if you make it a point to search for the very best ingredients, your skin will look naturally sun-kissed.

3.  Not exfoliating first

This isn't a mistake that will have you looking strange, but it's one that you need to avoid nonetheless.  Your skin is constantly shedding old cells.  That's why the color you get from our self-tanning towels (or ANY good tanning product) will only last for a week or so.

If you want to make your tan last longer, you've got to exfoliate your skin first.  That will get rid of all the old cells beforehand -- so that there's fewer to shed in the days to come.
