The 4 Best Self-Tanning Tips You Never Would Have Thought Of

The 4 Best Self-Tanning Tips You Never Would Have Thought Of

Getting your hands on the very best self-tanning towels is only the beginning.  If you want to look like you just stepped off a plane from the Caribbean, follow these 4 self-tanning tips.  They're easy to follow, but we bet you never would have thought of them on your own!

1.  Moisturize a few key areas first

Even though our organic self-tanning towels contain natural moisturizers, there are some spots that can use a little extra TMC ("Tender Moisturizing Care") beforehand.  Your knees, elbows, hands, and feet all tend to be drier than the rest of your body, so rub a light moisturizer on them before you tan.  That way, they won't over-absorb tanning solution and turn darker than the rest of your body.

2.  Start at the bottom of your body

The key to our self-tanning towels is the world "self" -- meaning you can use them without any help from a friend.  However, if you want the best finished product, start wiping at the bottom of your body and work your way up.  That way, you won't have to worry about the solution creasing when you bend over.

3.  Self-tan in a cool room

Give your steamy bathroom the ol' heave-ho when it comes time to use your self-tanning towels!  That's because the heat can make you sweat -- and, thus, make your tanning solution drip and run.  If you want a truly even finish, use your towels in a cool room.

4.  Don't try to do what the sun can't

Before you start self-tanning, envision how the sun hits your body.  There are going to be some places -- like the bottom of your feet and the palms of your hands -- that aren't going to get a dark tan.  So, when you grab your self-tanning towels, don't apply it to those areas.  If you do, you'll wind up looking fake!

Sleeping with Your Makeup On? Yuck!!

Sleeping with Your Makeup On?  Yuck!!

You've been at work all day, the house is a mess, and you've got to get up at the crack of dawn to start everything all over again.  So, your face will forgive you if you don't take the time to remove your makeup, right?

Wrong!

Part of the reason we created our makeup remover wipes in the first place is because we know just how bad it is to sleep with your makeup on.   Leaving your makeup on while you get some Z's can:

-  Turn your pillowcase into a breeding ground for bacteria

Every time you head to bed with a made-up face, you're leaving makeup residue on your pillowcase.  While the stains may come out in the wash in a few days, you're resting your face on a ton of bacteria in the meantime!  And, in true bacteria form, even just a little makeup residue will grow and thrive quickly -- meaning you could wind up with a face full of breakouts just from going to sleep!

-  Dehydrate your skin

The skin on your face (especially around your eyes) is very delicate.  If you don't remove your makeup, your skin won't be able to get as much oxygen as it needs to stay hydrated and repair itself overnight.  The end result?  Skin that looks dull, dry, and lifeless!

-  Make you look older than you really are

All of that makeup you're sleeping in is trapping free radicals against your skin -- the same things that cause wrinkles and fine lines.  Plus, free radicals attack collagen -- the stuff that keeps your skin looking firm and vibrant.  Sleep in your makeup enough, and you could wind up adding years to your appearance!  Yikes!

The 3 Biggest Self-Tanning Mistakes You Can Make

The 3 Biggest Self-Tanning Mistakes You Can Make

Think that self-tanning is a no-brainer?  Think again!  Sure, it may be easy to rub down your skin with a good tanning product, but you've got to work smart.  Otherwise, you'll wind up being the victim of one of these awful self-tanning mistakes:

1.  Blotchy spots

You want to look like a tanned Hula dancer, not a speckled mess!  Unfortunately, though, even the best self-tanning products can leave you with streaks and spots if you don't use them carefully.

That's why we designed our special self-tanning towels.  With them, all you have to do is rub them over your skin.  They're big enough to make sure you cover every single nook and cranny.  That way, no one will mistake you for Spotty Dotty!

2.  Skin that's orange

Having an even tan doesn't do you any good if your skin is orange instead of tan!  The skin tone you end up with will be a direct result of the self-tanning product you choose.  If you go with ingredients that aren't top-notch, you'll wind up with that unmistakable fake orange color.  But, if you make it a point to search for the very best ingredients, your skin will look naturally sun-kissed.

3.  Not exfoliating first

This isn't a mistake that will have you looking strange, but it's one that you need to avoid nonetheless.  Your skin is constantly shedding old cells.  That's why the color you get from our self-tanning towels (or ANY good tanning product) will only last for a week or so.

If you want to make your tan last longer, you've got to exfoliate your skin first.  That will get rid of all the old cells beforehand -- so that there's fewer to shed in the days to come.

Why Use a Warmer on Your Scented Towels?

Why Use a Warmer on Your Scented Towels?

You've probably noticed that we sell a towel warmer on our Accessories page.  But since our scented towels are so great all by themselves, why do you need to bother with a towel warmer?

Because:

-  It adds a spa-like luxury to your home

Want to feel pampered without spending an arm and a leg?  No problem!  Towel warmers are a great way to get some good ol' fashioned luxury, right in the comfort of your own home.  And, if you combine that warmth with one of our scents, you'll end up with a treat that you'd have to spend a fortune on somewhere else!

-  It opens your pores

Want your face to get a really deep clean, without resorting to harsh scrubs and exfoliants?  No problem!  Just rub a warm towel over your face before you pull out the washcloth and the cleanser.  That way, your pores will be wide open and ready to say "goodbye" to all of the dirt and grime that's been clogging them!

-  It improves your circulation

As soothing as a warm scented towel feels on your skin, the heat will give your circulation a boost.  That means more oxygen can travel to your organs and muscles -- and even improve your brain function!

-  It's energy-efficient

Sure, you could stick your scented towels in the dryer for a few minutes to warm them up, but you'd wind up wasting a lot of energy in the process.  Instead, most towel warmers only use the same amount of electricity that you'd need to power a light bulb!

Do You Really Need Wholesale Scented Towels?

Do You Really Need Wholesale Scented Towels?

That may have been the first thing that went through your mind when you saw our Wholesale program!  The truth is, our wholesale scented towels can come in handy for a variety of reasons, like:

1.  They save you a ton of money

If you plan on buying scented towels on a regular basis, you're much better off buying them in bulk at a wholesale price.  That way, you can help your customers feel great AND make your bottom line look a little healthier!  For businesses like barbecue restaurants, salons, spas, and even zoos, our wholesale program will give you the power to pass out as many scented towels as you want, without worrying about budget constraints.

2.  They're just as good as their "regular" counterparts

Some wholesale products are made out of a slightly lesser-grade of materials because they're being sold in bulk.  That's not the case with our scented towels, though!  You'll always get the same top-notch ingredients and the same luxurious feeling, whether you buy 10 of them or 10,000 of them.

3.  Shelf life of one year
