If you're like us, you're always looking for ways to cut Mother Nature some slack. (Heck, we've got an entire Green Commitment to do just that!) But did you know that you can actually make your makeup routine more environmentally friendly?
Here's how:
1. Go organic
There's an organic version of just about everything these
days -- including makeup! Like
their other organic counterparts, the brands behind this makeup work extra hard
to be environmentally friendly, and they've gotten really creative with
it! For example, you can get
mascara that uses natural fibers on the brush, instead of plastic.
To go organic, all it takes is a few minutes to read the
label. Organic brands will brag
about going green, and you'll actually be able to pronounce the ingredients,
because they won't be a bunch of odd chemicals. As an added benefit, all of those organic ingredients will
be much easier on your sensitive skin!
2. Opt for wood
instead of plastic
Got eyeliner that's encased in plastic? It may not seem like much, but you're
making a teeny-tiny dent in the environment every time you buy it. If you want to go green, opt for
something that's encased in wood -- like an eyeliner pencil, instead of a
crayon, for example.
3. Stop wasting
water
When you use a "regular" cleanser, you use up a
ton of water. First, you've got to
run the water until it gets warm.
Then, you need to use a bunch to get all of the cleanser off. All the while, Mother Nature is
screaming for mercy!
Our makeup remover wipes are pre-moistened -- meaning you
don't even need to be around a sink in order to use one.
