The 4 Best Ways to Stay Relaxed on Your Flight

The 4 Best Ways to Stay Relaxed on Your Flight

Here at ScentedTowel.com, we know how grueling it can be to fly all over the place, either for work or for play.  (In fact, our own long airline hours are what prompted us to start this business in the first place!)

So, if you're looking for the best ways to stay relaxed at 30,000 feet, look no further than these 4 tips:

1.  Bring along the lavender

There's a reason why so many of our scented towels are infused with lavender essential oil -- it's a proven stress-buster!  Studies have shown that lavender increases the number of beta waves in your brain, and it's those waves that are responsible for keeping you calm, cool, and collected.

2.  Keep your mind busy

If you're afraid of flying, every bump in the sky is going to convince you that something morbid is happening.  So, find a book you love or download some new music onto your iPod in order to keep your mind from drifting to less-than-ideal possibilities.  (As an added benefit, this will make the time go much faster!)

3.  Focus on your breathing

When you get anxious or stressed out, your breathing becomes shallow and fast.  Unfortunately, that pace makes you feel a whole lot more anxious and stressed!  So, focus on taking deep breaths -- giving yourself plenty of time to inhale and exhale at a leisurely pace.

4.  Have some lemon essential oil on hand

You'll find it in our scented towels because -- among other things -- it's great at providing relief from the common cold.  After all, nothing's worse than flying with a stuffy nose and a sore throat.  (And all of that dry, recycled airplane air is going to make your symptoms even worse!)  But, by breathing in some lemon, you can instantly feel rejuvenated.
